It seems there’s a shift in the furniture industry combining old elements with a rustic and contemporary feel. Adding the warmth and character of wood with metal, steel or wrought iron has the best of both worlds and works well with any decor. The Industrial Revolution was HUGE

and introduced the use of metals that were prominent in plumbing and lighting fixtures, cabinet and doorknob hardware and for structural members in roof and columns. In today’s time, the use of various metals, irons and steel adds an industrial element that looks amazing in a contemporary home especially when adding the texture and beauty of wood.
